10 Years Younger: Nicky Hambleton-Jones Doesn’t Approve Of Myleene Klass
Nicky Hambleton-Jones has said that being replaced by Myleene Klass on Channel 4 TV show, 10 Years Younger was like a “slap in the face”.
Channel 4 announced last month that 30-year-old Klass would be taking over from Hambleton Jones one the show.
The 37-year-old told Grazia magazine: “When I heard that I’d been replaced by Myleene, it was a slap in the face. Perhaps naively, I thought there was a divide in TV between women who are there for their looks and women who are there for their expertise.
“It does seem to me like a classic case of replacing any women over 35, regardless of how suitable she is for the role, with a younger face. For the first time, I felt old and past it.”
A spokesperson for Channel 4 said Hambleton-Jones made the decision to leave, adding: “Myleene is an ideal replacement. Age played absolutely no part in the decision.”

I think it’s terrible. Nicky was good and a professional. Myleene has no experience and is on everything, channel 4 is just jumping on the band wagon. Bring back Nicky.

I agree – Myleene Klass is a nice girl but she doesn’t have the knowledge about fashion which Nicky had, so she looks a bit redundant to the show as she just stands around waiting for the contestants to appear. Her dialogue also seems a bit banal and she doesn’t appear to know what to say to the contestants. Bring back the true fashion expert – Nicky!
Myleene is a poor replacement. She lacks the kind of klass and sophistication that Hambleton-Jones had, not only that but she doesn’t actually do anything. Nicky would always talk her participants through her choice of clothing for them etc. Myleene just hangs around, waiting for her minions to choose the clothes for her participants and just presents.
10 YY is on in less than 20 minutes, it’s safe to say I will not be tuning in.
I tuned in tonight to watch the 10YY Challenge and was very surprised to see Myleene Klass presenting instead of Nicky. Myleene lacks the experience, knowledge, credibility and gravitas which Nicky brought to the show.
ten years younger has been spoiled. nicky was knowledgeable but myleene seems quite redundant, therefore i will no longer be tuning in.
I totally agree, I with the previous comments and will no longer tune into “Ten Years Younger”. Myleene is not right for this programme (dont get me wrong, I like her, but not for this).
We should start a petition to bring Nicky back.
I’m busy watching the new 10 years younger show on TV. I’m utterly shocked that they got rid of Nicky and brought Myleene in, she is utterly useless and can’t even string together a decent sentence never mind a decent outfit!

Nicky did annoy me with her presenting style but in this case I think Nicky is more suited to the job. Why present a fashion show when you don;t have any involvement. Myleen is being a puppet for Channel 4. Denise Welsh the narrator has a bigger part to play!!
Nicky’s expertise, experience and style made the programme a favourite of mine. The new show is a pale imitation of the one Nicky presented. Channel 4 should be ashamed of going for the flavour of the month and not sticking with a knowledgeable expert. Who better than a qualified dietician (Nicky) for the new format rather than a piano playing ex singer (Myleene) who doesn’t have the depth of knowledge required.
I couldn’t give a monkey’s either way. As far as I could see the only think Nicky ever did, was tell people to cinch in whatever they were wearing with a belt. Her book was exactly the same. She was a snooty madam, and that’s probably why they ditched her!
Bring back Nicky. She does not have the X factor like Nicky. And The experience..
Myleene is no good she has got no experience. I shall not watch the show again. BRING BACK NICKY> We want some one with experience, not ayoungster.
I too loved Nicky on the show and think she had a great attitude with the participants, adding her own knowledge of fashion and style to suit the ladies being made over. I do think the program makers have made a mistake with Myleen as she is not right for the show and even looks somewhat uncomfortable, particularly with women older than herself. I cannot see what she brings to the show whatsoever. I Miss Nicky, please bring her back.
I think Mylene klass is bland and has absolutley no knowledge of fashion. She seems to just stand around waiting for the ‘team’ to do everything for the contestant then just presents the contestant in the unvailing at the mirror. Bring back Nicky Hambleton-Jones- the expert!
I am soo bored with the current show that i have stopped tuning in, Channel 4 have ruined what was a brilliant show and turned it into something banal and very bland.

Myleene is terrible! It makes me cringe watching her trying to relate to the participants. Nicky was stiff, but somehow more believable than the ubiquitous Myleene.
It’s one thing replacing Nicky, but why on earth have they remaoved all trace of her from the repeats? It’s ridiculous – you can even hear her heels tapping in the background! It’s like she’s been totally iradicated and replaced with a cack voice over just so Myleene can do a ‘catch up’. It’s been ruined and ‘You are whay you eat’-ified!
Bring back Nicky! I agree the truth hurts. If Nicky was abrupt it was to drum in the message within a short period of time but with brilliant results. It’s like parenting! Why do we always have the Care Bear approach, this really is a nanny state! Grow up!!! Bring back Nicky. Mylene is okay for the shampoo advert and can just about watch the M&S advert, but to put her on ten years younger, it’s like watching a giggly teenager, where is the expert advice. I’ve just asked the whole of the HR department I work in and we are not impressed with Mylene’s approach. Bring back the expert Nicky, she has charisma, is straight to point and personally I don’t think she is heartless, I think she always showed her good nature as well (Balance). Plus most importantly Nicky had the expertise. Get rid of the flop Pop Princess.
Even when she presented with Gok, she just seemed so out of place, like a third hand she didn’t need to be there!.
Find Mylene her own programme, put her on the X-factor or animal hospital, but don’t ruin 10 Years Younger anymore than you have done – Pleeeeease…….
PS: I will not watch 10 Years Younger anymore either! Who is Mylene suppose to be relating to? I am 25 and I’m not relating to her on any level, age shouldn’t be an issue, it’s EXPERTISE!!!! Plus is pretty and well presented, regardless of age etc, she just looked good, she knew her stuff!
Well Nicky my friend and I think you should do a show called 10 years better, we are two ladies aged 47 (me) and 37 (my work mate), we look after ourselves, eat properly,don’t smoke and dress fairly well, we think with your help we could look 10 years better, its not fair that those who let themselves go, get all this fantastic treatment free of charge, let us who take good care of ourselves have a go at looking even better.
