Modern Family, a brand new US series celebrating the freaky, frenetic and funny side of family life has arrived.

Teamed with The Simpsons, this skewed sitcom provides giggles and guffaws as part of Sky1 HD’s comedy hour on Thursday nights.

The opening episode is comedy at its most cringeworthy, and the highlight is undoubtedly Phil. Proudly proclaiming, “I’m a cool dad, that’s my thing”, it soon becomes clear that he’s anything but. As well as proving he’s “down” with text speak and the choreography from High School Musical, in the standout scene, Phil inadvertently demonstrates his sharp shooting skills with a BB gun…
