71 Degrees North shelved due to lack of adventurous celebs!

It’s been reported today that Paddy McGuinness’ dare devil show 71 Degrees North has been shelved because the show’s producers can’t find enough celebrities who want to take part in it!

Paddy’s co-host Charlotte Jackson confirmed yesterday that the show has been axed for time being, telling TV Biz, “It’s not coming back.”

Last year, Rav Wilding conquered all the challenges presented by the show and its setting, which is “the frozen wastes of Scandinavia.”

Of the show’s setting – which it seems few celebs are tempted by – Charlotte said, “The scenery is spectacular and it was an amazing experience, but it’s really tough.

“I don’t think the celebrities realised just how hard it was…

“Watching at home you’d expect the stars would get an extra rug after filming but they were just left sleeping in snow graves.

“John Barnes almost got pneumonia because he sweated on a task and then it froze on him.

“I was glad to be in a hotel at night with Paddy.”

However, it’s not the last time that Charlotte and Paddy will work together as they’re both fronting an Olympic Special of The Big Quiz on ITV1 on the eve of the Games’ Opening Ceremony.

Of that, Charlotte said, “We filmed it in front of a live studio audience, which I had never done before, and it’s girls against the boys which I always think is a good thing.

“I was the team captain for the girls. I had skeleton racer Amy Williams, swimmer Karen Pickering and heptathlete Louise Hazel, while Paddy had footballer Joe Hart, hurdler Kriss Akabusi and swimmer Mark Foster.

“It was really fun.”

Are you sorry that 71 Degrees North won’t be back for a new series?
