Ab Fab star Jennifer Saunders to front horse riding documentary
Jennifer – who of course battled and overcame breast cancer – will be featured in daily training routines ahead of the Badminton horse trials which take place next month.
Entitled, Jennifer Saunders in the Saddle, we’ll see her working with British Olympic hopefuls including Piggy French and Lauren Shannon among others as she learns to ride competitively.
Speaking to the Mirror about the documentary, and her love of horse riding, Jennifer said, “My only worry about grassroots is that I just won’t have enough riding time…
“I want to go in confident. It is just finding enough time.”
However, an ITV insider seems to be more confident, and said, “We’re delighted to get Jennifer’s serious side on our channel and think this will be a great programme following Jen’s training and attempts at competing as a showjumper.
“She has the odd joke in the doc, but this is about showing a different side to her as a broadcaster.”
The paper adds, “Jennifer is following in the footsteps of comic actor Martin Clunes who has made documentaries for ITV on dogs and horses.”
Let’s hope Jennifer doesn’t do a Lorraine Kelly!
