Abbey Clancy spills the beans on her amazing shape up, her family and why she’s putting off plans for more children.
She turned heads at last week’s GQ Awards in a sheer black lace dress, less than a week after being snapped on the Italian island of Capri flaunting her post-baby body in a skimpy bikini – and Abbey Clancy tells Closer Magazine she’s “really happy” with her figure.
5ft 9 model Abbey – who dropped a stone in just three weeks after giving birth to her first child Sophia Ruby in March – reveals that she actually weighs less now than the 8st 7lbs she weighed before she fell pregnant.
She’s been undertaking bootcamp-style workouts three times a week, but the 25 year old reveals it’s also a hectic lifestyle that has seen her revert to the size 6 figure she first showed off as a model.
She laughs: “I’ve just been running around after my baby and horse riding a lot. I weigh less than I weighed before I had the baby and I’m really happy with my figure!”
After confessing to putting on more than a stone with cravings for After Eight mints, mince pies and cheese on toast during her pregnancy, Abbey puts her svelte figure down to having “good genes,” courtesy of her mum Karen.
Abbey tells Closer: “I’m lucky to be blessed with good genes. My mum is 51 and hasn’t had any work done but she still looks like she could be my sister. She’s a goddess!”
And the star is so close to mum Karen that she’s now moving her into the family home to help look after Sophia. Abbey says: “She helps me out all the time. Mum raised four children alone so it just goes to show that you don’t need a nanny.”
Abbey, 25, adds that she’s so busy working that she’s in no rush for her second child. She admits: “I hated being off work while I was pregnant. I love my TV gig and hanging out with the This Morning crew. During my pregnancy, I phoned Holly Willoughby all the time for advice – she’s so sweet.”
Closer is on sale now (Tuesday).
