So, today came the surprising news that ABC Family has taken the decision to drop Pretty Little Liars spin-off, Ravenswood after just one season on the network.
When the drama first launched in the fall of 2013, there was definitely high hopes, but it seems things will be unsolved after the show will not continue for a second season.
The season 1 finale aired earlier this month and it would seem like the creators were hoping for a second run as there’s still quite a few questions that need answering. But, it seems like they never will be answered now the network has dropped the show.
It was thought that ABC Family had high hopes for the show as it was given a straight to series order early in 2013, and it had quite a solid premiere with over 2 million views tuning in. However, slowly it lost its viewers and the finale only managed to draw in 1.4 million viewers in total, so after the loss of around 700,000 viewers throughout the season, ABC Family decided not to continue with the show.
Tyler Blackburn starred on the show as Caleb, but it is said that producers of Pretty Little Liars want him back in Rosewood, so it’s thought he will continue his role during the fifth season of PLL.
The hit drama has been renewed for a fifth season, with episode five of the forthcoming fifth season set to be the show’s 100th episode.
Elsewhere, as we enter the season in which we’ll find out the fate of our favourite TV shows, it has been confirmed that Lifetime has dropped Drop Dead Diva once again.
The forthcoming sixth season of the show will reportedly be the last for Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime, but if you’re familiar with the proceedings of the show so far, you may want to take that with a pinch of salt.
The Brooke Elliott-starring show was cancelled for a period last year before bring brought back in March of the same year.
The fifth season of the show debuted in June and was later ordered for a 13-episode sixth season.
Are you sad that both Ravenswood and Drop Dead Diva have been kicked to the curb?
