ABC green light new comedy ‘Mystery Girls'; to reunite 90210’s Jennie Garth & Tori Spelling


ABC has given the greenlight to new comedy show, Mystery Girls and it will reunite both Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.

Garth and Spelling appeared on the popular 90s show Beverly Hills, 90210.

Mystery Girls has been given a pilot commission from ABC Family and has the potential to be picked up for a full first season depending on how the pilot goes.

The show sees a former starlet roped into solving crimes with her former mystery TV co-star when a witness to a crime will only speak to the infamous ‘mystery girls’, which was a show from the 90s.

In come Spelling and Garth in which the former will play the role of Holly. Holly is desperate to regain her fifteen minutes of fame all over again and plans to resurrect her life by using her acting skills and crime “experience” to open a detective agency.


Garth on the other hand will play the role of Charlie, Holly’s former co-star turned suburban housewife and mother. Holly attempts to get Charlie on board with the plan to open a detective agency.

It is also known that both actresses will serve as executive producers on the show alongside Maggie Malina. The pilot episode has been written by Shepard Boucher.

If you’re a fan of the more recent series of 90210 on The CW, you’ll know that Garth appeared in quite a few episodes – 20 to be exact – and Spelling had a guest role on 2 episodes.

It is thought the pilot will go to air some time next year. We’ll keep you updated as more news is available.
