ABC renews Dancing With The Stars, The Bachelor and Shark Tank
American network giants, ABC, have today announced the renewal of Dancing With The Stars, The Bachelor and Shark Tank, fans will be pleased to hear.
According to reports from Deadline, the three popular shows will be joining the slate of new season programming from the network, despite Dancing With The Stars reaching its lowest premier figures when its latest season, season 11, began in March, and its latests cycle going head to head with The Voice, with The Voice beating its rating figures significantly on several occasions.
At this point is unclear as to whether two cycles of Dancing With The Stars will be commissioned as usual, one in the spring and one in the autumn.
To try and rectify the viewing slump, Dancing With The Stars has introduced quite a few new formats to the show in a bid to try and shake things up, including dance-off for the bottom two couples facing elimination, and a trio challenge in which a third professional dancer is introduced to a contestant and their full time dance partner.
The Bachelor is also thought to have been renewed by the network, although details of this have yet to be confirmed, whilst business-themed reality show, Shark Tank, has been recommissioned for a fourth series comprising of 22 episodes.
Also, as part of the new slate, dramas and comedies such as Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, Revenge and Modern Family have all been picked up again, whilst Cougar Town has today confirmed a move from ABC to TBS.
ABC’s full programming slate will be officially announced at its upfronts presentation on Tuesday, May 15.
