So disappointing! I had recorded this show and was really looking to sitting down today and watching it back to back...but after only about half an hour I've had to stop watching and have just deleted it. Keilly Reilly is appalling. The writing may take some of the blame but to me, she has absolutely no screen presence (she seems to just pout a lot) and is totally unbelieveable. What a shame to waste a Lynda La Plante story in this way. I can only hope that if any more small screen adaptations of her stories are made, they choose a different actress.

I want to congratulate La Plante on the fantastic storyline of Above Suspicion. From the start I could see a differents approach, from the way you were listening to a conversation but were also hearing background conversations where people were finding more snippets of info eg. on the telephone, I think this reflected Travis' charatcter in the fact she was always a step ahead than other work collegues hearing other things and seeing other things! Even though her collegues thought she was somewhat amature! I certainly found the performance of Anna convincing and could not wait for the concluding part!
I had already discovered there was something far to precise about Daniels speech, and was just waiting for his true accent to come out, it was pure brilliance how it did and put my teeth on edge! Fantastic. I just look forward to the next drama from Lynda, they are just so real its unreal!

what a lot of codswallop - neither the bad guy nor the detective could act and I got the distinct feeling a lot of dubbing over had occurred.

I think your review of this itv drama summed it up perfectly. Reilly is - there's no doubt about it - an extremely talented actress and I envied Travis' strong personality however somthing was missing and I came away feeling that i couldn't connenct to the characters which is somhing I'm constantly looking for in a program of this nature. Also, although I didn't notice it straight away, you rightly mentioned the clichèd background behind each character. This lack of originality was something that I did find slightly dissapointing and I think a unique approach to each role may have made the plot more intriguing.
However after mentioning those slight annoyances I think it's only right that I point out how much I loved last nights episode of Above Suspicion, which included some fantastic acting and an amazingly well written script, and how much I am looking forward to the second -and final -part tonight!
