Adam Lambert has been raving about performing as a vocalist with legendary rock band Queen on their recent blockbuster tour.
Just days after Roger Taylor revealed that he’d also love to record with the American Idol star and work on some studio projects collaboratively, Adam has admitted that he was once ‘freaked out’ by the thought of taking to the stage with the British legends.
Yesterday we revealed that Queen along with Lambert picked up the award for Band of the Year at the Classic Rock Awards this week and after being honoured at the event, Adam explained what it was like to sing with the men for the first time.
“It’s been such an honour to be on stage with such an iconic band and legends like this,” he said.
“At first it freaked me the f**k out, and then I started really enjoying myself and learning from these gentlemen and trying to take it all in. And I’m so lucky, so thank you.”
It’s a two way street for Adam Lambert. Not only is he enjoying performing with such legends but they too are enjoying having him as part of their band. Over the past few months both guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have been full of praise for the vocalist and have been adding more projects to their calendars.
Meanwhile, speaking on the red carpet at the Classic Rock Awards Adam also praised LA, his favourite city. He loves the rock and roll vibe of the region and gushed:
“What a crazy ride it’s been. Well, it’s a rock and roll city. You go down Sunset Boulevard and see all these famous rock clubs….there’s a lot of history here. We can see the Capitol Records building across the street. You know, L.A. is a music town!” he added.
