Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D spoilers: British actor Ian Hart cast in scientist role

British actor, Ian Hart has been cast in a recurring role on the forthcoming series of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The news was today revealed by Entertainment Weekly, in which the outlet reported that he will play the part of a scientist on the series.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know, ABC hasn’t given out any more information about the actor’s role on the highly anticipated show, which is set to kick off late next month.

Hart has previously appeared on Rogue, Luck, Dirt and Bates Motel.

Meanwhile, the brains behind the show, Joss Whedon has said that it is a “perfectly good idea” for other Marvel superheroes to appear on the show, but I wouldn’t hold your breath as to it actually happening.

He said: “I think it’s a great idea for the show and a perfectly good idea for them. [But], I’m not going to go begging, and I’m not going to use up favours that I need for The Avengers 2.

“Those guys would be a delightful bonus, but we’re not building our arcs around them. We’ll just see what happens”.

He added that he did not want the Marvel movie characters to “overbalance” the TV Show. In a previous interview, he also said that he wants people who have not seen the movies to be able to understand the TV adaptation.

“I do think it’s a problem if you have them too regularly and then people are just wondering, ‘When do I get to see the movie star again?’ instead of concentrating on [the series cast]”.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D kicks off on September 24 on ABC.
