Ainsley Harriot Returns With Ready Steady Cook

ready steady cookThe nations cheeriest chef, Ainsley Harriot, will soon be back on our TV screens with an all new singing, dancing series of Ready Steady Cook.

Ainsley Told The Sun Newspaper:

“The new series will be a bit more interactive really, a bit darker and a bit sexier,” Ainsley said.

“We had a fantastically successful run on Ready Steady Cook, it’s coming up to about 18 series.

“But TV has moved on, you know, it’s moved on so quickly, so you can’t just sit back on your laurels.

“I remember being offered to do the show in 2000 and kept thinking ‘wow’ because then it felt like it was on its last legs, then we revamped it and it carried on for another seven years, so God knows what’s going to happen this time.”

The revamp means we’ll have to say goodbye to the green pepper and red tomato cards that audience members previously used to cast their votes.

The 40-year-old chef said: “We’ve got rid of the cards. I think people will probably be sad to see them go.

“It was all a bit untidy, and people don’t realise that it took up a lot of time in the studio.

“You’d get kids and students coming in holding them upside down, and we’d be like ‘no turn that one the right way round, all hold them up at the same time’.

“It will be a bit more believable now with key pads, no more thinking ‘ooh, was it one way or the other’ – there’ll be a definite result.

The star added: “There’s more audience involvement now, the quickie question comes from an audience member, the quickie bag comes from a specialist.

“We might get somebody from the barbecue association, or a farmer, or somebody from the ladies’ Harlequin rugby team, which is a little bit more exciting.”
