Deck the halls with swathes of lamé, fa la la la, la la la la…

Alan Carr is hosting a party, fa la la la, la la la la.

Ok, enough of that…

Alan Carr is a man who likes a good time, and on New Year’s Eve, he’s going to host a televised party, to which we’re all invited…

And I’m hoping he’ll get tired and emotional as a newt, just as he did when he recently interviewed Westlife for Chatty Man.

Some famous faces will be joining Alan to ring in the New Year, including Jonathan Ross – who, let’s face it, is like sh*t in a field full of cows; unavoidable – as well as Micky Flanagan, Heston Blumenthal, Gok Wan, Melanie Sykes, Alesha Dixon, Kirstie Allsopp and Strictly diva, Bruno Tonioli…

There will be music from The Ting Tings and JLS, in addition to comedy sketches, games, and full-on audience participation.

Channel 4 states that confirmed VT sketches so far include a spoof of The King’s Speech, a Made In Chelsea parody – which feature Alan and the real cast of the show – in addition to a couple of sketches with Alan’s BFF, David Walliams.

Alan Carr’s New Year Specstacular is produced by Open Mike production for Channel 4, and was commissioned by Syeda Irtizaali.

Directed by Chris Howe, the show’s producers are Kate Edmunds and Andy Smith.

And don’t forget, there’ll be a Christmas special edition of Alan Carr Chatty Man on Channel 4 over the holidays.

Here’s a clip of Alan wishing viewers a happy Christmas back in 2009…

What are your plans for New Year’s Eve? For me, my main ambition is managing to stay awake long enough to hear the Big Ben bing bongs on telly…
