The now ex-Emmerdale star Alex Carter – who plays Jamie Hope – has finished filming his final scenes for the show.

Alex has played the luckless postman for four years, but he made the decision to leave the show in order to pursue other ventures. It was also speculated that he was unhappy with his character’s ‘bland’ storylines.

His co-star Sian Reese-Williams – who plays Jamie’s on-off love interest Gennie – wrote on her Twitter page that she’d been upset while joining Alex for filming of his last scenes…

She Tweeted, “So that’s it then. He’s done. Gutted…

“Wonderfully talented and a fabulous boy. We will miss him. Boo.”

However, she added that the final scene in which they both appear would be “fun”.

We’ll get to see Alex’s last Emmerdale scenes at the end of May.
