Ali Bastian has promised that The Bill will be “grittier” when ti moves to its new post watershed time slot.

Speaking to We Love Telly! magazine, she explained: “We can tackle gritty storylines that we haven’t been able to before, which everyone is really excited about.

“And it’s gone high definition so it’s looking really good – which is helpful because there’s more landmarks and stunts in it. There’s new music, too.”

On the future plans for her character, she added: “Sally’s a naughty girl and I hope she’s going to get naughtier!”

I am sorry to say that I find the new Bill totally uninteresting. I do not like the ‘music’ all the scenes seem to be in half light, so struggle to see what is going on. I found the old programme had more in them, with more cast and various story lines running through, and sometimes re-appearing some time later. Why do we always have to watch so called gritty issues. Isn’t there enough of those already. I do not look forward to the next show and probably will not watch it at all as I do not want gritty. We get enough of that in the news. Also the change of the time of showing has upset such a lot of people because it does not fit in with their timestables. Please return to the old programme.
