New Emmerdale actress, Amanda Donohoe has admitted that one of the things that enticed her to join the ITV soap was the beautiful location in which it was shot.

“It’s beautiful countryside. It’s real horse country. One of the pluses in deciding to join the show is the location,” she told MSN.

“I love watching soaps. Because it’s the one time you really see actors work. It’s a full-on schedule and it’s challenging. I’ve always said if you can be in the living room of eight million people five days a week, that is a huge privilege.”

Maxwell Caulfield, who plays Amanda’s on screen husband, revealed how the couple end up in Emmerdale.

“They’ve gone for a change of pace. They’re self-made millionaires, they’re very well-to-do, and they’ve come in and bought Holme Farm and all the surrounding properties,” he revealed.

He continued: “It’s not that they’re coming into an early semi-retirement. They’re too dynamic and too driven for that. But they are certainly looking for a break from the big city.”

The couple arrive in Emmerdale on January 15.
