Amelia Lily first became a household name (if you’re a fan of the X Factor) when she appeared on the ITV show back in 2011.

The 19 year old was due to release her debut album but this has since been delayed and in an interview with Digital Spy she explains why it didn’t go to schedule.
After finishing in third place on the X Factor back in 2011 Amelia Lily has gone on to release three singles.

One of those three ‘You Bring Me Joy’ managed to reach Number 2 in the UK.

Amelia Lily was due to release her debut album ‘Be A Fighter’ back in July but this was cancelled partly because she wasn’t happy with how it was sounding.

Amelia Lily spoke with Digital Spy and confessed that she is a perfectionist and she wanted to release content that she was happy with first:

“I’m a perfectionist, as a lot of people who are close to me know. I didn’t want to release something that I wasn’t 100% happy with.”

“I’ve gone back in the studio now, working on new songs. I feel a lot older now.”

She went on to add: “I feel like I’ve learned a lot from being in the industry for the past two years and I’ve gone back in and I know exactly what kind of direction of music I want to do.”

“I’m looking forward to people hearing my new music, and hopefully it won’t disappoint you all! It’ll be worth the wait, I promise you.”

Other than ‘You Bring Me Joy’ which reached Number 2 her other singles ‘Shut Up (and Give Me Whatever You Got’ reached Number 11 while ‘Party Over’ reached Number 40 in the Official UK Singles Chart.

On the X Factor Amelia Lily came third place behind Marcus Collins and winners Little Mix.
