Despite appearing as just a head on the last episode of American Horror Story: Coven, Kathy Bates has revealed that she is loving her time on the show and working with one actress in particular.
It would seem that Bates is quite fond of Gabourey Sidibe as the pair have filmed quite a few scenes together.
Bates and Sidibe’s characters didn’t get along right at the beginning as Bates’ Madame LaLaurie was a tad racist, but the pair have grown closer over the episodes and it’s amazing to see.
Speaking about working with the actress, Bates said: “She was one of the actors that I was really hoping I got chance to work with. I think she’s beautiful, and I just love her presence. She’s so natural. She’s so real. There isn’t a dishonest bone in her body. She’s always just real. And she’s so much fun to play with. Happily, I got to do a lot of fun things with her”.
Even when Sidibe’s Queenie threw Madame LaLaurie under the bus by taking her to see Marie Laveau a couple of episodes ago, she still felt guilty about it.
As we saw on the last episode before the Christmas Break ‘Head’, Queenie left the head of Madame LaLaurie in an upstairs room to watch footage of the Civil Rights struggle and playing ‘Oh, Freedom’. It would seem that LaLaurie’s racism was cured by the song and documentary that was playing to her in a loop, but we’ll see how that one lasts.
Of course, Queenie put a gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger on the last show, which also killed Hank outright as he went on the hunt for Laveau to kill her.
How will this effect the storyline going forward now that Queenie has splattered her brains across the salon?
