Last night saw the hilarious and dark winter finale of American Horror Story: Coven.
I believe last night’s episode was one of the best yet because it was so action packed, it was filled with twists and turns and that cliffhanger is enough to keep anyone on the edge of their seats. Mastermind of the show Ryan Murphy recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about last night’s episode, what is next and whether everything is as it seems!
If you haven’t seen last night’s episode yet, I suggest you don’t read on…
We saw some bizarre stuff happening on last night’s showsuch as Myrtle with her melon-baller, Kathy Bates’ head watching Roots, the revelation of the witch-hunting corporation and Hank going bat-crap crazy in the salon… there was so much going on.
But, one big question is whether Queenie is dead or not. When Hank stormed into the salon last night, poor Queenie got caught in the cross-fire, but unfortunately, Murphy wasn’t willing to discuss the future of Queenie during the interview.
“Historically around episode 9 or 10 we do sort of start to kill everybody off. This year is harder because there are characters who have the ability to bring people back to life,” he explained.
Last night also saw a big change in Myrtle as she paralyzed the council and cored their eyes out.
Speaking about that scene, he said: “All those women and Quentin betrayed her in such a weird way. Then, there’s also the thing that she said in the previous episode that she’s seen the dark side of flames. She’s come out more of a psychopath in Dior”.
Not only that, Cordelia and Misty seem to be building quite a bond together recently, especially since Cordelia got her eyesight back last night. According to Murphy, the relationship will continue but it will be tested when the Seven Wonders comes up, which is the test witches take to become the new Supreme.
But, the biggest thing we all want to know about is THAT cliffhanger last night. At the beginning of the episode, Fiona asked Marie Laveau to join forces to beat the witch hunter, which Marie knew was Hank. But, since Hank went all bat crap when the tables turned last night, we saw Marie turn up at the academy, presumably to join forces with Fiona and the Salem witches.
Murphy has confirmed that the two clans do team up and Marie loves into the academy. “She’s there for good,” she said.
One person that has been left behind is Madame LaLaurie – her head is just sat on a table upstairs and the rest of her body is in a cage in the back room. That issue will be resolved in the coming weeks, according to Murphy, but will someone like Delphine ever change? Will she ever change her attitude? It’s possible…
Moving onto the final four episodes of the season, when the show returns in January, Murphy said that there’s a lot of special stuff coming up.
Stevie Nicks of course has her cameo coming up and we see Fiona and Marie work together to beat the witch hunters that have been after their groups for centuries.
Also, who is going to be the next supreme? Will Queenie and Delphine come back together? What happens to Kyle now he is back and can speak?
He even went on to say that in January, the team will begin writing the new season!! Exciting times.
