American Idol: Keith Urban on new judging panel “We just clicked”

American Idol judge Keith Urban has said that the new judging panel click well on the show this year.

The process for the 2014 season of American Idol is well underway with Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. at the panel.

Speaking to Extra, Urban said that there was an instant chemistry between the three judges this year. Of course, Urban is the last judge standing from last year and Jennifer Lopez has appeared as a judge on two seasons previously. Connick Jr. has also played a big role in several different seasons on the show, but now he has his time to shine at the judging panel.

He said: “We just get along and we love what we do. We just clicked”.

Urban went on to say that he’s impressed with Jennifer Lopez as she seems to be a natural at judging talent.

“I think she’s so good at [judging talent],” he said.

Of course, there was a lot of speculation surrounding American Idol’s judging panel earlier this year after Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson all left the panel. A number of names were linked to the new line-up including Dr. Luke and, the latter of which is currently a coach on the UK version of The Voice.

But, not all is lost as Randy Jackson will be returning in a mentor role this year, replacing Jimmy Iovine.

American Idol will return in January 2014 on FOX in the US. The show will also return to the UK on 5*, usually a couple of days after the premiere in the US.
