With the tragic, untimely death of truly iconic, not to mention truly talented, Amy Winehouse, all talk of her life have been mainly focussed on her ex husband, Blake Fielder-Civil but it seems that Amy had forgotten him completely and had made plans for the rest of her life with Reg Travis.
The pair, who had been dating for two years had reportedly shared a heart to heart merely weeks before the singers death, on July 22, during which Traviss produced a diamond ring and proposed to the Back to Black singer.
Friends have reported that during this heart to heart, Amy had told Traviss that she intended to quit booze and put her demons to rest once and for all. She accepted his proposal instantly and the pair made plans for their wedding -which was to be held next year – and their plans for the future, which included a family and growing old together.
“Reg asked Amy and of course she said ‘Yes’. She loved him,” a source told the Sun newswpaper. “She wanted nothing more than to be his wife and to start a family with him.
“She wanted to get rid of her demons so badly. They openly said they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They both thought the absolute world of each other.”
The insider continued: “Amy spent a week in rehab in June and told loved ones afterwards she was determined to quit booze. She was planning her future with Reg and that was playing a huge part in her thinking.
“Amy was adamant about sorting herself out. Reg’s proposal made her even more determined. She didn’t want to carry on the way she was.”
Speaking a few days after Winehouse was found dead in her Camden home, Traviss said: “I have lost my darling who I loved very much”.
