We would like to congratulate the BBC on the production of the film aired on 23rd Jan. 2009 about the ‘Scilly Boys’ and their sad but inspiring adventure in attempting to row across the Atlantic. The re-enactment was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the programme.
We hope there will be another series made.

We too know the isles of Scilly well and saw Father Guy there in september before the series started. This made it even more puzzling that there was no mention of him at all or even a glimpse, even at the farewell service of the older chaplains who had been so good to him….very odd. It made us feel quite upset, to say nothing of all the business about David leaving. Lets hope if there’s another series there’s at least an answer for the viewers when a leading character is cut.

We met David Easton recently and he is a wonderful kind man who genuinely adores the Isles of Scilly.

Scilly gets into your soul….once you go there, you never want to leave.

David will be leaving the islands in the early summer, I believe to go to Aberystwyth.

The last programme where David was unsuccesful was particularly moving, his breaking down on camera was heart-rending.
He was obviously popular which makes the decision all the more galling.
Would like to know why, but suspect we may never find the truth as it will doubtless bring criticism of those who rejected him.

Yes, it would be nice for them to just show Father Guy and his family are well, just so we know.
Wasn’t it said about the Methodist minister David not being invited to stay?
I’m not even religious but was quite upset, what a shock for the poor man, he seemed so nice and popular too.

Yes I too am wondering about Father Guy. I guessed he had had enough of the intrusive TV cameras but it would have been nice to know how he is doing.

Having wtched the series from the beginning and video’d when we have not been home during screening we are concerned that no mention has been made of Father Guy, the Church of England priest who came to the Scillies with his wife and children. We were told that he was struggling to settle into his new life, but would like some information about how he is doing, and why he is not mentioned this series. Thank you

Having just got back from the isles of scilly i can tell you that Father Guy and his family are still on the isles,but i heard that he did not want to be in the latest series.

I have just seen that you are doign a third series of Parish Island, and notice we have a new minister what has happened to Guy and his family.
