Emmerdale series producer Gavin Blyth has hinted that there may be change ahead for Andy Sugden.

In an exclusive video on the ITV website, Gavin said: “Andy is going through something of a transformation and I think it’s time that we start getting back to Andy that we know and love.”

He continued: “Not changing him, he won’t suddenly become a different person, but hopefully there’ll be some depth and we’ll be able to take him in a new direction and shake off some of the demons that have tormented him.”

Discussing other upcoming storylines, he said: “So much exciting stuff happening, where do I start?

“Cain’s back, it’s big, it’s exciting, he’s just going to be Cain of old with a twist. Charity’s return, wow, you couldn’t create a better family unit than Charity, Cain, Debbie, Sarah.”

He added: “Carl and Lexi -Obviously there will be a pay off coming, a very, very, exciting one.”
