Anger Management finds its new sexy doctor in Laura Bell Bundy as she’s cast in series regular role
Anger Management has finally found its new sexy female lead, after Selma Blair walked out of the show.
Since Blair’s departure, bosses have been looking to cast a new female lead to take over from her, and it seems they have found what they’re looking for in Tony Award-nominated actress, Laura Bell Bundy.
The announcement came yesterday from Lionsgate Television. Bundy will play the role of Dr. Jordan Denby, a brilliant psychologist whose recent divorce, fondness for alcohol and wild mood swings turn Charlie’s life into an emotional rollercoaster.
Initially, Bundy was only going to be cast in a recurring role, but she will now appear as a series regular.
The 32-year-old star has played parts in huge Broadway shows such as Hairspray and Legally Blonde: The Musical. She also appeared as Shelby on Hart of Dixie and guest starred on How I Met Your Mother.
Bundy will begin filming her role for the sitcom this week.
Meanwhile, former Beverly Hills 90210 star Brian Austin Green has been upgraded from his guest star role to a full-time series regular.
Brian plays Charlie’s nemesis Sean and will now appear in a few more episodes than he previously did – how many is not known.
Sean first appeared in the premiere episode of Anger Management on FX and has since appeared in the episodes: Charlie Breaks Up with Kate and Charlie & the Secret Gigolo.
Unfortunately, the show has been suffering from troubled ratings since the series was upped from its original 10-episode order.
FX works on a 10/90 basis for many of its new shows in which 10 episodes are ordered and if they go down well with the viewing public, a further 90 are ordered, bringing the total up to 100, but the shows’ ratings have been suffering since the 90 episode order.
