TV duo, Ant & Dec are reported to be “appalled” by yesterdays revelation that they were wrongly given a British Comedy Award at the 2005 ceremony.

The peoples choice award should have gone to Catherine Tate, but was instead given to the boys after Robbie Williams said he would only present the award if Ant & Dec won.

‘They are so upset and completely appalled. They have been lucky to win many awards and would never want to win an award in this way,’ said a spokesman for the pair.

Ant & Dec returned their award last night and the investigation that revealed the scam added that there was no suggestion Robbie, Ant and Dec were aware of ‘any of these issues’
