Ant & Dec Are Shot At In Afghanistan
Ant and Dec have come under fire whilst they visited Afghanistan to present a bravery award.
The presenters about to board their plane at Kandahar airport when the Taliban opened fire on the terminal.
Ant told ITN: “It was pretty hairy, not something I’d like to experience again. All the guys around us were pulling on body armour. We couldn’t believe how close we were to being hit. It shows what our troops go through every day.”
The TV duo had been filming at Camp Bastion in Helmand province to present a Pride of Britain award to the Medical Emergency Response Team, who risked their own lives by rescuing injured colleagues from the front line.
Dec added: “One minute everything was calm and the next the sirens were wailing.”
