Gene Hunt is about to get an eyeful when the second series of Ashes to Ashes kicks off on BBC One.

Hunt is trying to catch the killer of a fellow copper who was found dead at a soho strip joint, of course that means doing a tour and catching up with all the local ‘talent’.

A source told The Daily Star: “The show opens with a bang.

“Hunt has been asked to investigate a murder but when he finds out it’s one of his own boys, it takes a sinister twist.”

Phillip Glenister who stars as Hunt in the BBC drama admitted to Radio Times that he actually hated the 1980s.

He says: “I remember that era as a sort of shit brown.

“Some of the music was f***ing awful, too. I can’t believe that Ashes To Ashes has helped make new romantic popular again.

“I mean, Spandau Ballet have sold out the O2 Arena, haven’t they?

“All I can say to everyone is that I am very, very, sorry.”
