EastEnders star Steve McFadden and his girlfriend Rachel Sidwell are celebrating the birth of their baby daughter who made her entrance into the world yesterday.

They haven’t named the new arrival yet but a spokesman for the couple has said that mother and baby are doing well and that “Steve is delighted” with her.

The baby weighed in at 6lbs 3ozs and was born by caesarean section in a London hospital.

The couple met while they were doing the ‘school run’ last year with their other children and soon fell in love. Rachel left her husband, Dr James Green, to live with Steve and he recently spoke of his happiness at Rachel’s pregnancy.

“Children are a bond, a physical entity and living proof of your love and commitment to each other” he said, adding, “This is a very exciting time for me, I feel like I’m having a fresh start.”
