The hit series Benidorm has encouraged Brits in Spain to use mobility scooters, just like battleaxe Madge did in the show, but with a difference…

The hotel where the series was filmed has apparently been forced to ban the scooters as lazy holidaymakers are using them just to get to the bar!

The Sun reports that an “insider” from the Sol Pelicanos-Ocas hotel explained the ban, saying, “While most users need them to get around, some Brits have been driving them to get to the bar when they could just walk.

“They were getting in the way.”

And a hotel spokesman added, “Some British guests decided to rent mobility scooters and bring them into the hotel without the authorisation of management.

“Due to the inconvenience they have caused, they are not allowed to use them any more.”

Filming for the new series of Benidorm and its Christmas special will get underway at the hotel in August.
