From the makers of hit sitcom Benidorm comes Benidorm Unpacked. Despite the cheap beer the Brits just keep flocking to the Spanish holiday resort. But there is also another side to this infamous holiday spot – Benidorm Unpacked peels back the layers and will get to the heart of what makes Benidorm tick. This three part series for ITV1 will be following Brits who work and live out there along with UK holidaymakers of all ages who repeatedly play out there.

Ever since the 1960’s, Benidorm has been the UK’s number one package tour holiday destination. Some Brits call it Blackpool on sea with sun, others refer to it as their spiritual home. Yet, scratch the surface and beneath it’s loyal following; the Benny Hill Bars where happy hour lasts a week; and the bacon and egg alleys - lies a truly unique holiday phenomena.

In episode 2 of this 3-part expose of life in the world-famous resort we meet comedy singing duo “Matthew and Son” – the cringe-inducing ‘father and son act’ whose greatest claim to fame is that Simon Cowell once called them ‘horrific’ at X Factor auditions. Still convinced that he and his son will ‘make it big’ one day, dad Colin is riled when the ‘Sex Factor’ rears its pretty head in the shape of Kelly. Will she steal Matthew from the bosom of the family or will his desire for superstardom cast dreams of domestic harmony into the deep blue Med?

Back at The Ambassador Hotel two wardrobe doors have mysteriously disappeared, and Deputy Manager Lisa Davis has to track down the culprits. Its fun and games all round and Lisa actually unwittingly discovers two lads who could be the next comedy duo to take Benidorm by storm!

One legged and one armed Meatloaf impersonator Neil St John and his wife Anya worry about where their next gig is coming from and even contemplate a trip to suss out the cabaret scene in Bulgaria. Will they decide to bite the bullet and go east or stick to what they know and make a go of it in good old Benidorm?
