From the makers of hit sitcom Benidorm comes Benidorm Unpacked. Despite the cheap beer the Brits just keep flocking to the Spanish holiday resort. But there is also another side to this infamous holiday spot – Benidorm Unpacked peels back the layers and will get to the heart of what makes Benidorm tick. This three part series for ITV1 will be following Brits who work and live out there along with UK holidaymakers of all ages who repeatedly play out there.

Ever since the 1960’s, Benidorm has been the UK’s number one package tour holiday destination. Some Brits call it Blackpool on sea with sun, others refer to it as their spiritual home. Yet, scratch the surface and beneath it’s loyal following; the Benny Hill Bars where happy hour lasts a week; and the bacon and egg alleys – lies a truly unique holiday phenomena.

In the last of this three part series, Benidorm Unpacked meets holidaymaker Maggie Newman, who, jilted at the altar back in Newcastle, has come out with her best friend to search for a new career and a fresh start as a singer on the cabaret circuit. Will she be a hit when a local talent agent sets her up with her first gig?

Meanwhile, big Tony, the Entertainment Manager at The Ambassador, shows what Benidorm showbiz is all about when he transforms himself into the “Phantom” for a hilarious operatic rehearsal. Benidorm Unpacked also meets Martin the hairdresser, whose dog can’t get out of the pool…Wayne and Derek, the fast-talking married gay couple who run the famous The Queens Hotel, and finally the first ever interview with legendary “Sticky Vicky”, the 65 year old naked conjuror and discover the real woman behind the magic razor blades.
