There’s less than a week until the 56th Annual GRAMMYs live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and if you thought the list of performers couldn’t get any better, you’re wrong.
It turns out that global superstar Beyoncé is the latest name set to appear after a TV commercial was aired for the GRAMMYs which featured the global icon.
If the TV commercial is to be believed (and we don’t have any reason to doubt it) then Beyoncé will be joining the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lorde, Robin Thicke, Daft Punk and many more.
It turns out, according to this new TV commercial which aired on CBS that her husband Jay-Z will also perform at the annual awards ceremony which is set to take place this coming Sunday (January 26th).
The list of performers continues to get better though as the likes of Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Stevie Wonder, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have also been announced.
Metallica are also due to perform a special rendition of their hit ‘One’ with Chinese pianist Lang Lang in what they promise will be “insane”.
Guitarist Kirk Hammett spoke with Rolling Stone magazine and said: “Lang Lang has interjected himself into the song in a way I don’t think anyone else has ever done in the course of our career.”
“He’s going to be playing major parts of the song. He’s going to be playing through the melody.”
Speaking about a demo they recorded featuring Lang Lang he continued: “He’s going to be weaving in and out of my guitar solos, which is amazing for me, because I’ve never played with another instrument that’s been able to do that so effortlessly.”
The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sunday January 26th 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the event will be broadcast live on CBS from 8-11:30pm (ET/PT).
