Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, Catherine Tate & John Simms Returning To Doctor Who
Some of our favourite Doctor Who characters are said to be returning to the show for David Tennant’s last appearance as the timelord.
The Sun reports that Billie Piper, who played Rose Tyler, Freema Agyeman, who played Martha Jones and Catherine Tate, who played Donna Noble will join forces to take on the Doctor’s arch rival The Master (John Simm) in the epsiode which shows David Tennant regenerate into Matt Smith.
“This will be the most exciting episode Doctor Who have ever done,” an insider said. “Getting Billie to agree is a real coup, but she loved working on the show so much it didn’t take much convincing,” they continued.
Our very own blogger Gerard isn’t so convinced about the comebacks though. On his Unreality Shout blog he says:
To be honest, I’d rather they didn’t bend the universe out of shape just to bring back the three companions. Martha Jones, maybe. Just to ease the transition. But no more Rose and her new accent. And why drag Donna back into it after going to all the bother of wiping her mind?

Happy to see John Simm return as the Master for Tennant’s finale (if the currant Bun has its facts correct) but please let this be the final appearances for Piper & Agyeman. Piper’s weird voice on her last return was just weird (And Geez writers stop breaking the parallel universe, Rose can never come back…oh yes she can thing too).
I’m really excited for this finally. But i’m not blind to the problems. Rose shouldn’t be able to come back. Granted the new half doctor is a great cop out for bring tennant back to the series every once in a while. Donna can’t come back because she’ll die if she sees him. Martha is the easiest because nothing bad happened to her. Oh and shouldn’t the Master have regenerated into a new body and not Jon Simm. Not really complaining about that one. I Liked John Simm. I’m excited for this episode and it will be interested how they fix these things.
I’m in two minds about this as well TBH. Like you Brandon I LOVE John Simm and I love Rose Tyler. Though I know it may affect the plausability of the storyline I would love to see an episode where these two return one last time.
I could live without Donna and would actually prefer it if Martha stayed in Torchwood tbh.
Lets hope the news is correct, I cannot wait for Rose, Donna and the Master to return. Shame Martha is in it again, never liked her and I think it spoilt the show having her in it, I hate the fact that David is leaving but I think the show would have been better if they cast John Simm as the new doctor… after all the killed Martha off at the end of series 2 only to bring her back for series 3. I think matt smith is going to spoil the series now after it doing so well.
