It’s usually the child who follows in their parents footsteps but it looks like things work in the opposite direction in the Cyrus family, at least that’s the conclusion we reached after listening to Billy Ray Cyrus’ latest musical effort.
The country singer has re-released his huge hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ but with a more hip hop sound and even some twerking! Seriously.
Billy Ray Cyrus, father of pop sensation Miley Cyrus, seems to be borrowing his daughter’s tricks of the trade.
The 52 year old first released ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ back in 1992 so it’s now as old as his daughter and it’s still considered to be his biggest hit.
The former Hannah Montana star has teamed up with Buck, the rapper son of singer Dionne Warwick for the remix and new video of the 90s classic track.
The video, which can be seen below, features a number of nearly naked girls twerking like his daughter Miley Cyrus taught the world.
The video features rapper Buck as he’s beamed up into a spaceship by an twerking alien who is wrapped up in gaffer tape.
We’re not entirely sure what Billy Ray Cyrus was thinking. Maybe he wants a piece of the attention his daughter is getting.
Or, perhaps he’s trying to embarrass the ‘Wrecking Ball’ sensation so badly that she never twerks again. We imagine it’s not the latter.
The remixed version of ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ also mentions his daughter with the line: “Miley keeps twerking, Daddy’s song is working, now Billy sing that crazy hook again – Wrecking Ball!”
US TV host Larry King also features in the video and warns the audience that a UFO has been spotted over Europe and is being tracked by the US Air Force. Umm okay.
Let us know your thoughts but be warned, the original will never sound the same again!
