If you’ve been living under a rock you might not know that Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) has been cast to take on the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaption of the erotic novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.
Author EL James made the announcement on Twitter earlier this month and also revealed that Dakota Johnson would be taking on the role of Anastasia Steele.
While the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie is still in pre-production bosses have decided that following the news that Charlie Hunnam should have bodyguards according to a report.
‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is due out in cinemas as early as August 2014 and will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
The casting of both Hunnam and Johnson was met with very mixed opinions with several online petitions appearing for other stars to be cast instead.
Bosses though have ignored the petitions and things are scheduled to go on as normal and when the movie launches in cinemas both actors will most definitely make the headlines.
According to Grazia (via a source) Dakota’s boyfriend is very nervous about the raunchy movie. The source told Grazia: “Jordan is delighted for Dakota in terms of her career, but he’s nervous about all the ‘sex’ involved in the role.”
Author Stephen King (pictured below) has also recently commented about the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ books stating they are more than just “mommy porn”.
Speaking to the Guardian on Friday he said: “I read Fifty Shades Of Grey and felt no urge to go on,”
“They call it mommy porn, but it’s not really mommy porn. It is highly charged, sexually driven fiction for women who are, say, between 18 and 25.”
As we said ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is due to be released around August 2014. What do you think about the casting decisions? Are you happy with them? Who would YOU like to see instead?
