BRAINIAC: SCIENCE ABUSE IS BACK

Explosive entertainment is back with a vengeance as the multi award-winning Brainiac: Science Abuse returns to Sky One. Bigger, louder and more mischievous than ever, Vic Reeves takes charge with his inimitable anarchic energy and gusto. Ably supported by Jon Tickle and Charlotte Hudson, this brand new series sees Vic and the team delve fearlessly into the mysteries of science doing the experiments teachers are too scared to demonstrate.

Brainiac: Science Abuse endeavours to find answers to those scientific questions that have always puzzled mankind: how hard is water if you fall on it from a great height? What makes the best DIY earthquake and is meringue really the best DIY firesuit? On his knowledge quest Vic Reeves will be unveiling his alter ego, Russian scientist, Uri Abusikov. And Jon Tickle takes to the high-wire to find out if the length of a balancing stick makes a difference.

In ‘Stuff NASA Never Tried’, Vic hits the launch pad, strapping rockets to the most unlikely of objects and, in ‘Undercover Brainiac’, Charlotte Hudson presides over hidden camera experiments on unsuspecting members of the public. Science’s biggest loser is back, looking for love in ‘On the Pull with Dr Bunhead’, following the Brainiac boffin’s pathetic attempts to find a girlfriend using his silky science skills.

Once again, celebrities are not immune from the madness of Brainiac: Science Abuse. In ‘Celebrity Day Job Electrocution’, they must try and carry out a normal day’s work whilst being electrocuted and the victims include cricketer and sometime crooner Mark Butcher, Sky News’ Kay Burley and betting guru John McCririck. Returning favourites include ‘Brainiac for a Day’, where viewers get to blow up an item of their choice; ‘I Can Do Science Me’, where Charlotte judges yet another pitiful parade of would-be scientists and, of course, exploding caravans, without which no Brainiac series would be complete.

From Tuesday 8th May at 8pm Sky One
