The BRIT Awards 2014 are here and we’ve been busy all day covering the event so if you can’t get to a television or access to YouTube then you can check out who has won what right here.
Among the list of performers (and the list of nominees) were Bastille and Rudimental who have just taken to the stage at the packed O2 Arena.
Bastille shot to fame following the release of their hugely successful album ‘Bad Blood’ which the band released back in 2013.
Bastille and Rudimental joined forces for one night only at the BRITs 2014 as ‘Bastille opened with ‘Pompeii’ before Ella Eyre joined them on stage for a performance of the Rudimental hit ‘Waiting All Night’.
Rudimental have also seen great success over the past year and earlier tonight were awarded the British Single gong at the O2 in London.
Bastille, led by frontman Dan Smith weren’t just at the BRITs to perform however as they were nominated for various awards.
The band were nominated for Best Group, British Breakthrough Act, British Single and Album of the Year. Music streaming service Spotify revealed backed Bastille yesterday.
The popular music service confirmed that Bastille were most likely to pick up awards they were nominated for at the ceremony going by streaming statistics. Ellie Goulding was also a favourite.
Bastille are set to release their second album in the near future but have confirmed that getting the time to write it is proving difficult because they’re always on the road.
Frontman Dan Smith spoke with The Scottish Daily Record recently and admitted that the band really didn’t expect any of the success they had confessing “I thought I’d be frying burgers”.
He certainly didn’t expect to be performing at the BRIT Awards tonight and said “It’s just added to the surreal moments we’ve had in the past year.”
During the BRIT Awards we were live tweeting @UnrealityTV and updating our winners list so if you can’t see the broadcast you really don’t have to miss out! Check out the performance below. HQ video coming soon!
