The BRIT Awards are back for 2014 live from London’s O2 Arena. As expected the ceremony is being broadcast on ITV 1 and hosted by James Corden.

International fans for the first time have the opportunity to watch via YouTube and Ellie Goulding is just one of the many performers to grace the stage.

Prior to the BRIT Awards Ellie Goulding revealed that for the first time her Mum could make it along to the ceremony so she would be coming along as her date for the night (we did offer!).

Ellie Goulding took to the BRITs a matter of minutes ago and performed an acoustic version of her smash hit ‘I Need Your Love’ which she originally recorded with DJ Calvin Harris.

The songstress then cut short the acoustic performance and broke into her chart topping hit ‘Burn’.

The ‘Burn’ singer who recently topped the Official Albums Chart with her latest album ‘Halcyon’ also revealed that she doesn’t expect to walk away with any of the awards she is nominated for.

This year at the BRIT Awards 2014 Goulding is nominated for British Female Solo Artist, British Single x2, and British video x2.

Goulding also confessed that over the years she has learnt not to get her hopes up and in regards to her performance she said: “It’s been fun to plan the performance and it’s been fun to go a bit further and push it a little bit.”

Ellie Goulding however did win the Critics Choice award at the BRITs back in 2010 but has revealed that she never really acknowledged it because she was so busy about worrying about future performances.
