The BRIT Awards 2015 are only a few months away and this week three big names have been confirmed to perform on the big show.
It’s been revealed today that Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Sam Smith will all take to the stage, while Ant and Dec are replacing James Corden as hosts.
The BRIT Awards 2015 will take place on Wednesday the 25th of February live from London’s O2 Arena and will be once again broadcast on ITV.
It’s likely that the three performers will be nominated for at least one award at the ceremony after all releasing new albums (for Sam Smith, it was his debut release).
Last year Sam nabbed the Critics’ Choice award and since then has had an incredible amount of success with his debut release ‘In The Lonely Hour’ – both here and in the U.S.
This success has gone on to provide the ‘Stay With Me’ superstar with a staggering six nominations at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards which will be held on February the 8th.
Ed Sheeran though, who won the first-ever ‘British Artist of the Year’ award at the BBC Music Awards last week will be providing Sam Smith with some serious competition.
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ musician has probably had the most success out of the three with his second album ‘X’ which is once again top of the Official Albums Chart this week.
For the man who won two Brit Awards back in 2012 and broke a number of records with ‘X’ we’re going to suggest that The BRIT Awards 2015 might be his night.
As for American songstress Taylor Swift, she too has also had a great 2014 – something that (we predict for the others) will no doubt carry on into 2015.
The beauty released her latest album ‘1989’ recently and has proven to be hugely successful along with the singles ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Blank Space’.
Though that won’t be it in terms of who is performing. Over the coming weeks, expect a lot more names to be announced along with the all important nominations which will come in January.
As for Sam Smith’s successor as the BRITs Critics Choice winner, that has already been confirmed as the incredibly talented James Bay.
