Introduced by Sir Trevor McDonald Britain’s Favourite View will celebrate the diversity and splendour of our most iconic land and city scapes.

From County Down to the Cornish coast, this stunning new series will allow viewers to experience Britain’s beauty from their armchairs.

Each show will feature four well known personalities authoring a short film shot in a part of the British Isles which has a particular place in their hearts.

There will be sixteen stunning views in total, split across five shows, including the Yorkshire Dales, the Gower Peninsula, the Seven Sisters, Stonehenge and the River Tyne.

The personalities will reveal what links them to their favourite view, as well as exploring the economic or natural events that led to the view being created.

At the end of each show viewers will get the opportunity to vote for their favourite view.

The series will be shot across an entire calendar year and the winning view from each show will go on to a live final where a public vote will determine Britain’s Favourite View.

The personalities taking part are:

Meera Syal, who will be taking in the view of London from Waterloo Bridge.
Rory Bremner, who will be admiring the view of Edinburgh from Calton Hill.
Vic Reeves, who will be at Stonehenge.
Clive Anderson at Housesteads, Hadrian’s Wall.
David Dickinson looking at Blackpool from the North Pier.
Tim Healy and Denise Welch at the River Tyne, Newcastle.
Rt Hon Charles Kennedy at Loch Coruisk, The Isle of Skye.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes at the Royal Cresent, Bath.
Eddie Irvine in Northern Ireland.
Des Lynam at the Seven Sisters, South Downs.
Rolf Harris at St Ives Harbour, Cornwall.
Janet Street Porter at Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland Coast.
Jamie Redknapp at the Pier Head, Liverpool.
Katherine Jenkins at Three Cliffs Bay, Gower Peninsula.
Sally Whittaker at Wastwater, the Lake District.
Lesley Garrett in Swaledale, the Yorkshire Dales.
