The Super Bowl next year could see Bruno Mars perform at the half time show for the first time.

Each year at the Super Bowl during half time some of the music industries biggest names take to the stage to perform in front of the world. Last year Beyonce performed in New Orleans with a little help from the rest of Destiny’s Child.

I’ll admit this now, I’ve watched the Super Bowl the past four years and being in the UK that means staying up normally until around 4am. After four years of watching I still don’t have a clue what’s going on. If anyone can explain the rules then hit me up on Twitter.

The Associated Press were told earlier today by someone within the NFL that Grammy-winner Bruno Mars would be performing at the half time show during next years Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.on February 2nd 2014 and is a fantastic platform for musicians to perform at.

Halftime shows in in previous years have drawn in audiences of more than 100 million in the United States alone and that figure can only increase with viewers around the world who tune in.

While Bruno Mars hasn’t been confirmed 100% the person who spoke with Associated Press (who wanted to remain anonymous) has said that the official announcement will be made soon – perhaps as early as tomorrow (Sunday 8th September) at New York’s Times Square.

Super Bowl XLVIII (48) will be the first time Bruno Mars has performed at the end and in previous years the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna have all performed at the half time show.

Bruno Mars is a household name and recently the 27 year old singer was honoured at the MTV VMAs last month for best male vieo and choreography for his video ‘Treasure’.

Mars released his first album Doo-Wops & Hooligans in 2010 which went on to become a platinum-selling album.

He then went on to release his second album ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ last year with hits ‘Locked Out of Heaven’, ‘Grenade’ and ‘Just The Way You Are’ proving successful for the young star.
