Bugbears Launching On CBBC For Your Little’uns!

by

CBBC is set to launch a new and innovative website for children, where they can discuss their very own Bugbears anonymously, and support each other with advice and empathy around issues or problems, that they face in the world today.

Children will be able to use the Bugbears site to record their very own Bugbear in their own voice with their own richly animated 3D creature to tell their story in a visually captivating way. They can create their own creatures to suit their stories and share them with other children on the site in an entertaining way and with anonymity.

Anne Gilchrist, Controller of CBBC, says, ‘Bugbears is perfect for CBBC in that it responds to our audience’s need to talk about and share difficult issues and yet for those issues to remain confidential. It looks great and it’s fun but at the same time it’s incredibly useful.’

I for one will definitely be checking this site out on the 10th, as will my young daughter. She is already a huge CBBC fan, having two years ago declared herself “too big” for CBeebies. She really likes the idea of being able to interact online and I am more confident of her safety on a site as reputable and well monitored as this BBC one. Check back here in two weeks for a full review of BugBears, and make sure to leave a comment with your thoughts if you check it out yourself.
