Call the Midwife actress Jessica Raine to star in new Doctor Who episode ‘Phantom of the Hex’
Call the Midwife star Jessica Raine is reportedly to star in a new episode of Doctor Who entitled, The Phantom Hex.
The news comes from Metro who report that Jessica – who plays the role of Jenny Lee in Call the Midwife and who has also starred in Garrow’s Law and Robin Hood – listed on her CV a role in the hit BBC sci-fi series, and as she hasn’t as yet starred in any, the entry on her resume evidently refers to an as yet unseen installment of the Time Lord’s adventures.
It appears that her CV was posted at showbiz agency Gordon & French’s website, and she states that her character in Doctor Who was called Emma Grayling.
The episode Phantoms of the Hex was directed by Jamie Payne, who worked on both Primeval and Call The Midwife…
Metro adds, “It is not yet known at what point Phantoms Of The Hex will appear in the upcoming seventh series of Doctor Who, but it has been confirmed that the new series will premiere on August 14.”
The premiere episode of the new series – which will of course see Jenna Louise Coleman introduced as the Doctor’s new sidekick during the Christmas special – is entitled Asylum of the Daleks, which is set to be screened at the British Film Institute at Southbank in London.
Here’s a reminder of the latest teaser trailer for the new series…
