Calvin Harris, Alesso and Hurts manage to knock Lily Allen off the top

It was expected that from the midweek chart update that Lily Allen wouldn’t remain at the top of the charts going into tonight and the Official Charts Company have revealed that to be true.

‘Under Control’ by Calvin Harris, Alesso and Theo Hutchcraft of Hurts has gone to the top of the Official Singles Chart and knocked Lily Allen’s cover of ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ originally by Keane off the top.

This isn’t the first time that Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has topped the Official Singles Chart but the trio will no doubt be celebrating the success of ‘Under Control’ tonight.

The track also gives Alesso and Theo (Hurts) their first chart topping single in the UK.

Moving up one place on this weeks Official Singles Chart is ‘Let Me Go’ by Gary Barlow which is at Number (2) while One Direction climb a staggering seven places into Number (3) with ‘Story Of My Life’.

Rounding off the Top 5 this week according to the Official Charts Company is Lily Allen with ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ at Number (4) and ‘Of The Night’ by Bastille at Number (5).

On this weeks Official Singles Chart there are a few new entries and McFly claim the second highest new entry this week with ‘Love Is On The Radio’ which is at Number (6) which is taken from their sixth studio album which still remains without a name.

Breach (English DJ and Producer Ben Westbeech) is at Number (9) this week with ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All) featuring Andreya Triana while ‘The Spark’ by Afrojack featuring Spree Wilson is new at Number (17).

‘You & I’ and ‘Don’t Forget Where You Belong’ by One Direction debut at Number (19) and (21) respectively and both tracks are taken from the bands number 1 album ‘Midnight Memories’.

New in at Number (19) on this weeks Official Singles Chart is ‘Hand On Heart’ by Olly Murs while ‘Roller Coaster’ by Justin Bieber is at Number (37).

According to the Official Charts Company this weeks highest climber soaring a staggering 42 places is Jessie J with ‘Thunder’ with is at Number (40).

Rihanna moves up 30 places to Number (39) with ‘What Now’ while Jason Derulo climbs 23 places into Number (26) with ‘Trumpets’.

Katy Perry is at Number (35) with ‘Unconditionally’ and finally debuting at Number (38) this week is ‘Berlin’ by RY X.
