The Official Charts Company have just confirmed the UK Top 40 on this week’s Official Singles Chart on BBC Radio 1 and as expected, Calvin Harris has scored yet another number one.

‘Blame’ which features British singer-songwriter John Newman gives the Scottish DJ his fifth number one as a lead artist but seven in total.

We had been hearing a lot about ‘Blame’ for several weeks and after it was premiered last weekend it shot straight to the top of the Official Singles Chart.

Calvin Harris is no stranger to the top of the charts with hits including ‘I’m Not Alone’ (2009), ‘Sweet Nothing’ (2012), ‘Under Control’ (2013) and ‘Summer’ (2014) all reaching the top of the charts.

The DJ and producer has also featured on two other massive chart toppers including ‘Dance Wiv Me’ by Dizzee Rascal (2008) and Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ (2011).

‘Blame’ also gives John Newman his third single at the top of the Official Singles Chart following 2012’s collaboration with Rudimental ‘Feel The Love’ and ‘Love Me Again’ from 2013.

Elsewhere in the Top 5 it’s been reported that former chart topper Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s ‘Prayer In C’ slides into Number (2) this week.

Meanwhile for Sam Smith’s his new single ‘I’m Not The Only One’ is at Number (3) followed by ‘Shake It Off’ from Taylor Swift at Number (4). Iggy Azalea is at Number (5) this week with ‘Black Widow’ featuring Rita Ora.

Chris Brown scores his tenth hit in the top 10 with ‘New Flame’ featuring Usher & Rick Ross which is at Number (10) while Fall Out Boy are at Number (22) with ‘Centuries’.

‘Say Something’ from A Great Big World is at Number (26) scoring its 12th non-consecutive week in the UK Top 40.

Finally, it’s been confirmed that following their performance on the 2014 Strictly Come Dancing launch show last weekend 5 Seconds Of Summer see ‘Amnesia’ climb 31 places into Number (7).
