Over the weekend, Lovato was playing a show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles as part of her ‘Demi World Tour’, when her ‘Camp Rock’ co-star surprised lucky concert goers with a very special performance of their duet from the 2008 Disney Channel film, ‘This Is Me’.
After the show, the former Jonas Brother couldn’t contain his excitement, and took to Instagram to post the pic above telling fans, “Surprise LA!?? @ddlovato thank you for having me.”
He also posted following video, along with the caption “Tonight was amazing. Fun keeping this a secret @ddlovato.”
Lovato and Jonas met on the ‘Camp Rock’ set, and continued their friendship when the ‘Neon Light’s became the opening act for the Jonas Brothers’ ‘Burnin’ Up Tour’ in 2008. The couple’s relationship then turned briefly romantic, but they split just months before they were due to promote ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’.
At the time, the ‘Sonny With A Chance’ actress was quoted as saying she was “mad” with the singer after their break-up, but just last year, she admitted to ABC’s Nightline that they now “have a great friendship.”
“Now, I can, fortunately, say, that [Jonas] and his brothers have always been there for me, and are literally family, and like brothers” she said. “We may not be as close as we used to be, but that’s okay.”
There have been a number of rumours circulating that the Lovato and Jonas would reunite for ‘Camp Rock 3’, however, neither have commented on the rumours.
‘Demi World Tour’ is expected to wrap in New York later this month.
