Paul O’Grady’s dog Buster dies

After only a week of retirement, Paul O’Grady’s pet dog Buster has died.

The 14 year old shih tzu and bichon frise cross, was put down after being diagnosed with incurable cancer.

A source told The Sun: “It all happened suddenly. Buster had been suffering and in a lot of pain. Putting him down was the kind thing to do.”

A spokesman for O’Grady told The Mirror that O’Grady is “absolutely gutted”.

Piers Morgan ‘Stephen Fry is tedious and boring’

Piers Morgan has blasted Stephen Fry and begged him to quit his “mind-numbing” and “tedious” Twittering.

Fry, has approximately one million followers on social networking site Twitter and recently threatened to leave the site after a spat with a fellow user.

Morgan told Contactmusic: “Fry spends all day posting unutterably tedious messages to the world’s ‘twits’ about himself, then bleats like a baby when one of them has the gall to point out what the rest of us can read with our own eyes – he’s just bloody boring.

Edward Woodward ‘The Equalizer’ dies

British actor Edward Woodward has died , aged 79.

Woodward, most famous for his role in 80’s crime drama ‘The Equalizer’, had been suffering from various illnesses including pneumonia and died in hospital, said his agent Janet Glass.

Edward was last seen on our TV screens as Tommy Clifford on Eastenders earlier this year.

The pair got married in a secret ceremony earlier this year and a source said: “To say they are ecstatic would be an understatement. The baby’s healthy and everything’s going to plan.”

TV psychic Derek Acorah causes mayhem on plane

TV medium Derek Acorah, is said to have made a bit of a prat of himself on a recent flight to Gatwick.

Derek, who claimed to have chatted with dead pop star Michael Jackson on a recent TV show, reportedly shouted and swore on the passenger flight and even stood up to walk about when the seat belt lights wer lit for landing.

Fellow passenger Jenny Hurley, told The Sun: “He had to be told to sit down, then he went really potty. He shouted, ‘F*** Gatwick! What’s England got going for it anyway?’ ”

It’s official – TV’s good for you!

A report from economist Charles Kenny – writing for Foreign Policy magazine – has stated that research proves categorically that TV soaps and reality shows “stop people taking drugs” and “could even cut birth rates.”

Not only that, but he reckons that shows which encourage voting, such as the X Factor, may also have a hand in persuading us to vote in general elections.

Kenny, who’s studied the effects of watching telly worldwide, believes the “popularity of soaps and reality TV could even improve the position of women in society.” Read more & comment »

Courtney Cox denies Friends film rumour

Friends star Courtney Cox has denied rumours that a spin-off film of the hugely popular show will be made.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Cox was asked if it’s true the film is in the pipeline, and she replied, “That would be a negative.

“We’re not. I can’t imagine it. I don’t know. I just can’t imagine that happening.

“I always thought we should have done a Thanksgiving episode. Once a year, all the ‘Friends’ should get back together and do one episode. And it didn’t happen… Read more & comment »

Corrie’s Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien have separated

Corrie actors Ryan Thomas and Tina O’Brien – who played on-screen husband and wife – have split up after what the Sunday People describes as “a series of bitter rows.”

According to the paper’s report, Tina left the couple’s home with their one-year-old daughter Scarlett last week and sources close to the couple reckon she “has no plans to return.”

One of those sources told the paper, “They can’t stand the sight of each other. There’s not much hope of them getting back together.

“It’s completely over between them. Ryan and Tina have always had a fiery relationship, although deep down everyone thought they would spend the rest of their lives together… Read more & comment »

Special web episodes of Coronation Street announced

Coronation Street bosses have reportedly lined up three special web episodes of the show which will feature Tony Gordon as he voices his thoughts on how best to confess to his fiancé Maria that he killed Liam.

The online only shows will feature Tony alone in his office at Underworld holiding a gun, leaving us to speculate whether he’ll kill himself or if the gun is intended for someone else.

Each on of the online episodes will feature a different version of the same script, and each will have a different ending. Tony’s ultimate fate will be played out during regular TV episodes when Gray O’Brien leaves the show. Read more & comment »

Corrie’s Ryan Thomas in drink-drive incident

Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas – who plays Jason Grimshaw in the show – has apparently been questioned by police in connection with a drink-drive collision.

25-year-old Ryan was reportedly quizzed over the incident – which took place in the early hours of last Saturday morning – when a car hit a lamp-post in Manchester city centre.

According to the PA, another man was arrested at the scene and was later charged with “driving while under the influence of drink or drugs”. Read more & comment »

Tupele Dorgu to quit Coronation Street

One of Coronation Street’s favourite characters, Kelly, will shortly be off our screens as Tupele Dorgu, who plays the rough-and-ready character, is leaving the show early next year.

On ITV’s Corrie website, Tupele said, “I feel privileged to have been part of such an iconic show for five years and I am grateful to everyone at Coronation Street for the opportunities I have been given.

“I have however decided to leave the show and am very excited about seeking new challenges and opportunities within the industry.” Read more & comment »

EastEnders star in vigil for “very sick” baby

Steve McFaddenEastEnders star Steve McFadden is spending every spare minute at the bedside of his “very sick” baby daughter Amelie, The Sun reports today.

Amelie was rushed to London’s Whittington Hospital last Wednesday night suffering from breathing difficulties. Doctors diagnosed bronchiliitis, a condition which causes respiratory distress.

Steve and four month old Amelie’s mother, Dr Rachel Green, split after just a few months together when Rachel returned to her husband, surgeon James Green, but the pair remain in touch over their daughter… Read more & comment »
