Channel 4 bosses axe Gok Wan’s How To Look Good Naked?

Channel 4 bosses have revealed that they will not be making a new series of ‘How To Look Good Naked’ this year.

The show – in which fashion stylist Gok Wan encourages women and men who are insecure with their bodies to strip nude for the camera – first took to the air in 2006 and catapulted the British Chinese presenter and fashion expert to fame seemingly overnight.

However TV executives have confirmed that they have no firm plans for a future series, telling The Sun:

“Gok is fully booked for this year and there are no plans for a new series of Naked.

“It may come back next year or it might not. No decision has been made.”

Thankfully, the witty star will not be gone from our screens altogether, as bosses confirmed that they are pushing ahead with plans for a new series of Gok’s Fashion Fix later in the autumn. He will also front a brand new show, titled Gok’s Teens The Naked Truth and speaking about his idea to have body confidence taught in schools all around the UK, Wan said:

just one lesson a year can help teens with a whole range of issues.

“It is as important as Science or English; because you can teach somebody to write but you can also teach them to respect themselves. When you’re looking at kids with eating disorders, kids that are bullied, self harming and taking their own lives, a lot of times it stems back to a really poor body perception and I think we can make a difference [in schools].

“If we get them educated about airbrushing, educated about images of perfection…Just to be told that every single one of us is subjected to over 3000 images every single week without even realising; just to have that information out there, I think kids will start building up a dialogue with their peers as with their teachers that would be invaluable.”

Gok will also reportedly be fronting a new Chinese cooking show later this year.
