Channel 4 to air two new shows; Secret Removers and My Phone Sex Secrets

It’s been revealed today that Channel 4 is to air two new and potentially controversial shows, entitled, Secret Removers and My Phone Sex Secrets.

The first of those show, Secret Removers, doesn’t sound inherently controversial, however, if it were me on the receiving end a secret removal, I’d be fuming…

Of Secret Removers, Channel 4’s press release explains that to “take the stress out of moving” the chosen family will be lured out of their house on some kind of false pretence, and the Secret Removers will go in to pack up their stuff and move it to their new home.

All well and good until someone discovers a box of butt plugs, whips and rubber sheets under a bed…

However, the press release adds, “But there’s a twist, as not everything will arrive with them. Instead, the designers use their intuition and design know-how to decide which of the family’s belongings should stay and which should go – and how their new home will be made over…”

Again, I would greet that with out and out rage. However, the channel’s executives reckon the show will be a hit.

Channel 4 Daytime Commissioning Editor David Sayer said of the show, “Secret Removers is a really innovative and fresh way to tackle the kinds of home make-over and interiors dilemmas we face, especially when we move house.”

The next new C4 show is My Phone Sex Secrets, a one-off special documentary which, according to the Sun, will “follow the lives of the women who make a living talking dirty for cash.”

The show will air next month, and of it, a C4 insider said, “Men calling up sex lines clearly imagine busty blondes and scantily clad women at the other end of the line.

“But it honestly couldn’t be further from the truth.

“The grim reality of the sex line industry is exposed in all its glory.”

I can’t wait to see both of these! But of Secret Removers, would you be happy – or like me, livid – to come home to find a bunch of strangers had not only been through all your stuff, they’d then decided what you could keep and what you couldn’t??
