Christine Bleakley and Frank Lampard deny wedding bribe claims
Somewhat bizarrely, it’s been reported recently that former Daybreak host Christine Bleakley and her footballer fiancé Frank Lampard have been trying to “bribe” other couples into giving up their wedding venues.
Apparently, all the top venues in the country are booked up months in advance, and Christine and Frank are struggling to find anywhere to host their wedding and reception.
However, in response to the accusation, Christine told the Sun, “I’d never in a million years ask someone to move a wedding.
“Stuff like that makes you out to be a horrible person…”
Over the weekend, newspapers in Ireland reported that Frank offered one couple £100,000 to move their wedding day, thereby enabling him and Christine to have their wedding at Galgorm Manor hotel in Co Antrim, which is near Christine’s family home.
Frank also allegedly offered to pay off another couple’s mortgage if they cancelled their wedding at Dromoland Castle Hotel, Co Clare.
However, Christine said, “One hotel even put out a story that I’d paid for an Italian restaurant to be opened in their venue because I wanted that food.
“I’d never get married there!”
And a source close to her added, “All these tales are just an urban myth. The same rumours circulated when David and Victoria Beckham announced they were to wed.”
Christine went on to say that she has no “concrete” plans for her big day as yet.
She said, “I honestly don’t care whether the napkins match the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses.
“I just want a low-key, relaxed day surrounded by the people I love.”
